Watersprings School Athletics

e encourage all students who are willing to work hard and learn to join our sports teams. It is our desire to give all students the opportunity to grow in their walk with God and prepare for life’s challenges through the avenue of sports. Part of playing sports at Watersprings is learning to be selfless and help develop our athletic programs. We have many students who play multiple sports at Watersprings just so we will have enough players to have a team. Be a part of something bigger than yourself, be a Warrior!

Mission and Vision
Our mission is to develop in our student-athletes discipline, hard work, sportsmanship, teamwork, a Godly attitude, and technique and understanding of their sport. We are doing more than just a sport. We are trying to prepare our student-athletes for life, to be Godly young men and women, and Warriors for the Lord. Athletics is a great avenue to teach our student-athletes life lessons and the character needed to walk with God the rest of their lives.

Watersprings athletic program started in the Fall of 2012 when we were still the Saints from Calvary Chapel Christian School. We were associate members of the Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) that first year. Our highest grade was the junior class and we primarily played a junior varsity schedule. The following year (2013-14) we were accepted as full members of the IHSAA and given the opportunity to play in districts and compete for state. Since then, we have won several awards.

Athletic Programs

Junior High
Our JH program combines the 7th and 8th grades with the addition of 6th graders if room is available. We offer the following JH sports:
Girls volleyball | Girls basketball | Girls track | Boys basketball | Boys track | *Boys football is available through the Sandcreek Gridkid Football program

High School
Our HS program consists of 9th-12th grades combining to form a varsity team and a JV team if number of players allow. We offer the following HS sports:
Girls volleyball | Girls basketball | Girls golf | Girls track | Boys football | Boys basketball | Boys golf | Boys track

It is our desire to offer as many sports teams as our student population can support. We only add a sports team if:
1) We have the student-athlete population to support it without significantly impacting an existing sport.
2) We have a competent coaching staff in that sport to put our best foot forward.

Our New Gym

Check out what our athletes are saying about our sports program! This was quoted from a 2015 graduate and Warrior Athlete, Ben Hayes, during an interview with the local newspaper on getting a scholarship to play football at the collegiate level:

Just to let kids know that you don’t have to go to a 5A school or leave our school to make it to a college... When I played at public school, I didn’t blossom... When I came here (Watersprings) there weren’t as many players so I had to step up and be a leader, and I think that helped me develop my skills in a way that I don’t think I would have had the opportunity at a public school with a lot more players.
