A Christian education is important because this world was created by God and He needs to be in our lives every moment not just after school and on the weekend.

How do you teach a Christian Worldview in your classes?
When I teach any subject in class, I simply ask, “is this important to Jesus?” Everything we teach should be brought back to glorify Christ. God’s Word should be brought into everything we teach.
What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
Jesus placed in my heart the love for teaching so I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a reading endorsement for grades K-12. I love to research reading strategies and bring hands on learning to my classroom.
What sets Watersprings School students apart?
The most important things that set our Watersprings students apart from other students is the freedom they have to worship Jesus, pray in class, and read His Word daily. We are training up warriors for Christ so they will be able to proclaim Christ boldly.
Love, truth, and discipline are key components in Watersprings School’s Mission Statement. How do you accomplish this in your role at Watersprings School?
I establish love, truth and discipline by talking one on one with students. When we talk one on one I hope to be gentle and kind, but seeking to point out what God’s Word says about their action. For major concerns I seek God’s counsel and the counsel of another adult.
What do you want your students to gain from having known you?
I hope my students gain a love and desire for Jesus and His Word. I pray that my students will realize they are daughters and sons of the living King and that they are worth dying for. I hope they see that Jesus is the only thing they need and that the answers to all their questions come from God’s Word. I hope my students realize they can impact their world by loving and following Christ!

When disciplining a child, I try to disciple them so they are aware of what they did wrong and pray with them to have God’s help to change that behavior. I want students to know beyond a shadow of doubt that Jesus loves them and God made them special.
Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself?

How do you teach a Christian Worldview in your classes?
I teach Christian Worldview out of the Bible. If it does not line up with Gods word then I would not teach it as factual. I talk about what God’s word says as often as I can.
What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
It’s not so unique, I’m married to Pastor Scotty, we have lived on a ranch, and we did the rodeo thing for several years. It’s a different life style, and one that demand's more work and respect than some others. I like being able to relate some of the things I’ve seen and done in my lessons. Children love to hear a good story, and I love to tell them.
What sets Watersprings School students apart?
Watersprings students have a true view of who Christ is and what He has done for us. They are not afraid to share about Him!
Love, truth, and discipline are key components in Watersprings School’s Mission Statement. How do you accomplish this in your role at Watersprings School?
I love the children even when they are being not so lovable. I say “Hey this is what God’s Word says about that, do you want to keep doing that? How can you change that behavior?” Then if what they are doing warrants, discipline, I’ll give an appropriate consequence. Usually it’s a heart issue and if I see a change of heart after talking with them no further action is required. We end with loves and prayer.
What do you want your students to gain from having known you?
That I love them and I want to see them all succeed, in class and in life.
Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself?
Just my true heart is to see them in Heaven, that it’s the absolute most important thing in this life. To be ready for that Day!

How do you teach a Christian Worldview in your classes?
I teach a Christian Worldview throughout our learning curriculum. For example, as we learned about different modes of transportation, we discussed how missionaries might use an airplane to bring Bibles or food to people around the world who do not know Jesus. Many of the children were surprised to hear many families in our country or other countries do not know Jesus or His Word.

As we say the pledge of allegiance we discuss freedom, and how children in other schools or countries are not allowed to pray in school or talk about Jesus. I continue to open up an age appropriate dialogue on the rest of the world and many times the lack of knowing Christ or the Bible in our country and other parts of the world.
What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
One of my favorite things about teaching is to be able to use God given creativity to think of hands on learning techniques in the classroom. It is really a joy to plan and think of different and exciting ways to teach basic concepts. My class is always a little messy but we really do have fun as we learn! As a mother of two Watersprings students, I also have a parent perspective of what kind of educational experience I would like to see my children receive at Watersprings. With those thoughts in mind, I try to be a teacher I would want my children to have and provide a learning experience I would want my own children to encounter in their classrooms.
What sets Watersprings School students apart?
The parents! It is comforting to know I am partnering with parents who want their child to have a wonderful education in a Christian environment.
Love, truth, and discipline are key components in Watersprings School’s Mission Statement. How do you accomplish this in your role at Watersprings School?
Love- I am able to love on the kids by first telling them of Christ's love for them, build relationships with children and give lots of hugs each day. Truth- I am able to tell the truth of God by sharing the His word with them daily during bible time and throughout our teaching curriculum. Discipline- We set clear boundaries and rules in our classroom. The children know what is expected and discipline with love will follow if rules are broken.
What do you want your students to gain from having known you?
I want my students to see my need for Jesus and therefore see their need for Him. I want my students to see any joy, peace or love in me is only because of Christ in my life. I want them to remember Mrs. Drewen loves them, but most important God sees them, hears them and loves them more than anyone!

How do you teach a Christian Worldview in your classes?
The Bible is incorporated into every subject through out the day. We look at our lessons through the lens of God’s word. We also often get into discussions about current events and how God’s people should handle them.
What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
I hated school growing up. I always found it boring. I wanted to be a teacher to make learning enjoyable and fun, and to foster a love for learning in my students. I especially love to bring art and science experiments into my classroom to teach principles. I try to use the creativity God has given me to create hands-on learning activities for my students. Of course, my love for Jesus seasons every lesson!
What sets Watersprings School students apart?
Our students filter everything through the Bible. Being able to apply God’s truth to every situation helps them get along with others, solve problems, and learn a life of service. Our students are not only being equipped for the next grade, the rest of their school years, college, and careers, but for an eternity spent with God. Our students know they were created by God, are loved by Him, saved by Jesus’ act on the cross, and purposed for a life spent bringing Him glory. Our students shine like the proverbial candle in a world continually growing darker. They have been given the task to be witnesses for Jesus, the soul winners of their generation, and I believe God is equipping them for this task through Watersprings School. Our students are set apart for Him.
Love, truth, and discipline are key components in Watersprings School’s Mission Statement. How do you accomplish this in your role at Watersprings School?
I love my students. Every year God puts a special place in my heart for each and every one of them. I speak God’s truth throughout our school day, and make sure all students are treated with fairness, equality, and grace. I have classroom expectations and procedures in place so the learning environment will be productive and safe for all learners. I expect my students to be self-controlled and hardworking. When an expectation is broken, discipline is applied through appropriate consequences or loss of reward. These situations are always discussed using Biblical truth, so students can grow deeper in their relationship with the Lord.
What do you want your students to gain from having known you?
I want my students to catch my love for Jesus. I want them to understand that Jesus has a plan and a purpose for their lives and for them to begin to be obedient to their calling on their lives.
Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself?
NO! Don’t make me talk about myself anymore!!!!

Why do you think a Christian education is important for families to consider?
To have a foundation in Christ first with everything kids are facing provides a security and that confidence of who they are in this world. We are bringing up our next leaders and teachers who have Christ with everything they do.

How do you make a difference in the lives of students in your role at Watersprings School?
I love all the kids I see here. By showing them Christ’s love I can encourage each one to follow Jesus with their own talents and abilities.

What sets Watersprings School students apart from students in other schools?
Their boldness. All the kids I meet in the halls stop to say “hi,” and give hugs. It is obvious they love being here and have learned joy just by being surrounded by joyfulness.

Why do you think a Christian education is important for families to consider?
Christian education is important because it is fully centered upon our Creator, God. Our world is so focused on theories and what scientists are finding that they are forgetting what our past generations have known, and that’s the Bible. Christian Schools are bringing the Bible and Jesus back into all curriculum because that’s who deserves the credit and the glory. God created the earth and all that belongs in it. Kids need to know that God exists, that He created the earth, the moon, and the stars.
How do you make a difference in the lives of students in your role at Watersprings School?
We make a difference every day in each of the student’s lives. As an aide, I felt I didn’t impact them the way the teachers do, but that’s not true. I get the opportunity to love on over 200 students every day, pray with them, give them godly guidance on issues, and give them a hug when they are having a not so good day. When I get to work with a student one-on-one over a period of time and see them succeed and begin to get 100’s on their tests, my eyes tear up because they did that with God giving them the confidence and a little help from me.
What sets Watersprings School students apart?
Watersprings students hunger for God’s love and want to know more. They are always asking questions that even I have to go back and look up. As we are all sinners, our students are quick to want to work things out and apologize. The top conversations I hear walking down the halls always involve Jesus, Pastor Scotty, or the Bible.
Anything else you would like to share?
I have been beyond blessed to be a part of the staff at Watersprings. Our morning devotions, praying for one another, and being there for each other has set us apart from even most Christian schools. I love each and every student and enjoy working with them, praying with them, and most of all, being able to give them that hug they need when they need it.

I believe my optimistic attitude and high energy helps because I really relate to the kids.

Watersprings students are taught to put Jesus first and education second. I love that because to be full of knowledge is not as important as being full of wisdom in Christ.

I want more than anything for the kids to know how much I love each and every one of them and I always will.
